Lead It
Discover the Leader Within!
Every student in your class is already a leader. They just don't know it yet.
Lead It is a full-day enterprise incursion for Years 5 and 6 that helps students uncover their unique leadership qualities, build the skills to use them, and walk away with a clearer sense of who they are and what they bring to the people around them.
This isn't a sit-and-listen day. From the moment students arrive, they are challenged, supported and celebrated through a carefully sequenced series of hands-on activities that follow a gradual release of responsibility model, starting with facilitator-led experiences and progressively handing ownership to students themselves.
Program Overview
- Introduction to Leadership: Students explore what leadership actually means, identify leadership qualities in well-known figures and in each other, and reflect on where they sit in their own leadership journey.
- Building Resilience: Through high-energy team challenges, students practise persistence, emotional regulation and conflict resolution and learn that facing difficulty is part of what makes a great leader.
- Collaboration, Compromise and Communication: Students navigate increasingly complex group decisions, learning when to speak, when to listen, and how to lead a community toward a shared outcome.
- Knowing Yourself: A personality quiz and team challenge help students identify their personal leadership style, recognise their strengths and understand what they want to grow.
- Always Growing: Students finish the day reflecting on how far they've come, celebrating each other's wins and taking their leadership skills with them beyond the classroom.
What teachers get from the day
Before the program starts, our facilitators check in with teachers about the cohort, specific goals and any upcoming leadership opportunities at the school. Throughout the day, teachers get a rare opportunity to step back and observe their students in action, who steps up, who holds back, how students lead and how they follow. It's the kind of insight that's hard to come by when you're the one running the room.
